St. Paul descends into police state — Get FISA Right group airs civil liberties commercial on FOX News

A 4th amendment activist group I’m working with, Get FISA Right, has been putting together TV advertisements. What does this mean? Well, thanks to a new company, SaysMe TV, we can put together an ad, and then have individuals fund it. It can be aired for as little as $6 a slot in some markets.

Here is our current ad:

As St. Paul desends into a police state [see here and here] while the civil-liberties-hating republicans have their convention there, wouldn’t it be oh-so-appropriate to air these commercials in the St. Paul market during prime time television? That is exactly what we are doing. Right now we have funded the commercial to run 8 times.

You can view all 3 ads here.

You can use the widget there to pay to put them on the air, although unfortunately, the minimum order is $100 (even though there are many slots that are less than that — so in that case you have to buy multiple slots).

But even if you can’t fund an advert, be sure to show them to your friends!

Wrongfully arrested 1999 WTO protesters win class action suit against City of Seattle

This is really amazing news. Tears are welling up in my eyes. Public Justice has won a class action lawsuit on behalf of wrongfully arrested 1999 WTO protesters against the city of Seattle!

In a landmark settlement reached by Public Justice on behalf of scores of people arrested in 1999 while peacefully protesting the World Trade Organization, the City of Seattle has agreed to seal and expunge the records of what a jury earlier determined to be their unconstitutional arrests by Seattle police.

In addition, the settlement mandates that the City improve police training in order to prevent unconstitutional mass arrests in the future. Finally, the City will pay $1 million to compensate the protesters for the violation of their constitutional rights and the costs of bringing the lawsuit.

I had no idea that this case was still going on. This is such an important event for our country.
