NYC December 2005

I was in NYC in December, and had a chance to visit the American Museum of Natural History. I first heard about this museum in a Donna Haraway essay, Teddy Bear Patriarchy: Taxidermy in the Garden of Eden, originally published in the book Primate Visions.

Here are some photos of the Akley dioramas and some fosils that I took with my trusty camera phone. Not too shabby for an ancient phone from 2003. And as an added bonus, an anti-circumcision activism poster at the end.

Photos from my Uncle’s Wedding in Toronto

I was the best man for my uncle’s wedding. His “bachelor party” consisted of me, my two sisters, and his sister (my mom) getting a few drinks at the bar down the street. It was loads of fun. He refused to let us get him drunk however. Me and Julie had to drink all the extra shots and beer. Oh well.

The first 4 are: my sister Natalie, two photos of my mom, and me, at the bachelor party. Then it’s Natalie with my uncle’s new wife’s dog, Blueberry (cutest dog in the world. also, blind. going on walks is interesting.) Then me and my uncle, in the Roots store, where he just bought me a canadian Roots t-shirt to commemorate the whole affair.

Photos from around Thanksgiving 2005

Here are some photos from my cameraphone taken around Thanksgiving 2005.

A convertable filled with various items; a dessert my sister Natalie made; Ghostface [Killah]; me; Natalie’s doctorfriend Tereza with a knife; Natalie with her doctorfriend Shawn; Simon Fink, Fiancé of my friend Becky; and someone in the UNC Comm Arts department office with impressive dedication to Halloween.

Photos from NYC trip several months ago

A few photos from when I went to the Media Ecology Association conference a few months ago.

A couple bumper stickers on a truck in Manhattan. A closeup of the facial features of the terrorist depicted in the bumper sticker. My friend Emily, who let me crash in her place.

Photos from Texas, Wisconsin, and party at work

Here are some photos I took off of my phone back in May and have been meaning to put up.

A kid in the mall sitting in the lap of a statue of a kid in a wheelchair. Inside my car at night. Chris. Dogs playing in the fountain in front of the baker institute. sister Natalie in a store in Green Bay. sister Julie in same store. coworker from former employer Center Line Productions Meredith with out-of-town sister Virginia. camera-lit bar photography of Virginia, Dave B (another Center Line coworker), me.

North Carolina Adventures

Here is a terror alert sign in the airport, a photo of my sister Natalie at a party, Natalie and her friend Teresa and all of our pumpkins, and a wee little doggie that Natalie’s other friend trains to compete in a game the locals call “speedball” or something, here pictured wearing its Halloween outfit. It went as a dalmation. That’s me with an at&t salesperson in the mall, and an anonymous ballerina dancing with a statue in the mall. Is it just me or is the statue’s head in a slightly different position in the second photo?
