In North Carolina I had access to a CO2 dry cleaning place. CO2 is way better for human health and the environment than all other dry cleaning methods, and Consumer Reports says that it cleans the best as well.
Amazingly, there is no such service in Manhattan, but one just opened in New Jersey. I wrote to them to see if they provide service to my neighborhood, and this was the response:
I am sorry but not at this current time.

A custom rickshaw! Awesome! Well worth the wait.
For those who are interested, you can locate all of the CO2 cleaners in the U.S. by going to findco2.com. Also some interesting info about the process.
While I believe we should protect the environment absolutely, dry cleaning is not the area to impose on yourself eco-friendly behaviors. The quality does not improve at C02 cleaners. Perhaps this is an improper hard line at “eco-friendly” cleaners. Maybe not. These cleaners are more expensive than conventional cleaning businesses (though journals are released on this subject matter and there are drycleaner conventions, the quality in a cleaners has only the variability of having excellent personnel and quality pressers to name a few. So there’s really no point in these carbon dioxide cleaners unless it causes you joy…and then I guess you are forgiven.
As an aside to you J.J.Bachir-
first time blogger, but qualified dry cleaner. I live in the city of Greensboro, NC and I cannot seem to find a part-time job. Can you pull the strings around here and find out if there are any dry cleaners hiring for part-time work?
