Well, it's your blog, so do what you want ;-)

I would recommend putting whatever you do outside of the normal page flow. The last thing I want to be reminded of at work is that I have to use their shitty browser.

How about "IE(7) Only works with Windows XP SP2. Switch to Firefox--It works in Windows, Linux and Mac OS X."

Shrug. As far as I can tell, IE7 and the people working on it have 1) done a good job so far in the releases they have made and 2) appear to be committed to continuing that job (esp. viz-a-viz standards).

I am willing to bet that I have ripped out at least as much hair as you regarding (IE

Matt, I get your point, but this isn't about the OS, their word processor, or political things like IP or DRM. I'm not determining what software is best for them in the sense of their experience or even safety.

What I AM doing is being an activist about what features I want my products to be able to have. On the web, if the user's agent doesn't support certain standards, then I am limited in which features of those standards I can use.

Internet Explorer hurts the web and holds it back.

You do realize that assuming you can determine what software is best for your users is a fundamentally arrogant operation?

If you post anything, I would recommend (somewhere out of the main navigation path): "Have you tried Firefox?" -> getfirefox
